Business Scenario:

A large retail company, “Global Home,” is launching a new and exclusive line of sustainable home furniture made from recycled materials. The company has three primary goals for this launch:

  • Generate Excitement & Drive Sales: Create significant buzz around the new product line to attract customers and achieve strong initial sales.
  • Showcase Product Features: Allow potential buyers to clearly see the furniture’s design, texture, and how it would fit into their own homes before purchasing.
  • Build an Emotional Connection: Communicate the story behind the sustainable materials to build a deeper, value-based relationship with consumers.

Task:

Based on the scenario and the reading materials, answer the following three parts.

Part 1: The Social Engagement Strategy

From Article 2 (“Social Technologies in Operations”), identify and describe one social technology strategy Global Home could use to generate initial buzz and gather user-generated content for their new furniture line.

Explain how your chosen strategies from Part 1 and Part 2 would work together to help “Global Home” achieve its three main goals. Structure your answer to address each goal separately:

  • Goal 2 (Showcase Product Features): How does your integrated plan allow customers to fully appreciate the product’s design and fit?
